ALLERGIES & SINUSITIS
Allergies (rhinitis, hay fever) manifest as frequent, sudden attacks of sneezing, stuffy nose, itching of the roof of the mouth and sometimes red, watery, itchy eyes. Chinese medicine recognizes these acute symptoms as a reaction to an external allergen (pollen, pollution, animals, etc.) and so acupuncture seeks to strengthen the body's internal defenses. Sinusitis is usually a chronic issue. It may include nasal discharge from the front and back of the nose (into throat), stuffy nose, frontal headache, facial pain, feeling of heaviness the head and sinuses tender to the touch. Acupuncture and herbs help to eliminate the phlegm and strengthen the body's digestive and respiratory functions in order to combat this stubborn condition.
